A four-week childbirth class series that covers the topics of birth, postpartum wellness and the care of your newborn. Taught by Kaitlin Coghill, a certified childbirth educator and birth/postpartum doula, these in-depth two-hour sessions expand upon the classic syllabus of the average childbirth class, diving deeper into what it really takes to let go in labor and allow your child to be born - and to holistically parent them thereafter.

Birth in Power is a childbirth education series based on truth-telling. We will openly discuss the most pertinent aspects of giving birth in America so that you can make the most informed decisions regarding where you give birth, how you take care of yourself postpartum and how you choose to care for your baby once they’re here in your arms.

Each class session is in-person and will include a home-study packet to explore and complete before the next session. Home-study “assignments” include reading articles and book chapters; watching videos and documentaries; crafting plans and lists; engaging in discussion with your partner/support people about specific topics; and preparing your home for your newest family member.

Series One will welcome yoga instructor and birth doula Sarah Gomez, who will lead attendees through prenatal and postpartum yoga as well as meditation and breathwork - all of which will be useful throughout the childbearing continuum

Class materials, light snacks, seating, blankets, pillows and yoga mats will be provided. Simply bring yourselves and anything else you may like to have with you to stay comfortable and engaged.

This class is appropriate to take at any time during your pregnancy, though most prefer to take classes during their second trimester. Because we discuss how to assimilate your birth team and choose your care provider, it is my opinion that the earlier you register for classes the better, in case you decide to make any changes to your support team or plan.

* Please note that there will be no refunds once each individual class series begins.
